you have interesting birds...and I like watercolor sometimes...not as much control as pastels or charcoal or conte is for me

but to each his own, right?

I like birds that other people think of as "ugly", like vultures, the Northern Bald Ibis and others. They are great models for paintings!

Really? I don't use pastels or charcoal at all at the moment. Too smudgy, in my opinion.

I think of my watercolour pictures as paintings because they take me so much time.

It wasn't easy to paint the pattern on the feathers, but they are such pretty little birds so I just had to give it a try. I'm glad you like it.

Do you own quails or did you paint them before, too?
