Well I Never... by rieke-b Well I Never... by rieke-b
Watercolours, opaque white and watercolour pencils, about 30x25cm.

I was inspired by a great landscape photo, made several changes to create something original and added a lynx, but then I felt there was something missing. I wanted to do something unusual for my Christmas 2012 painting, so I discussed it with my sister. Somehow, the outcome was a kangaroo (or wallaby, to be precise).

What’s an albino kangaroo doing there? Any ideas? :D

Was meint ihr? :D

Remarkable! You really captured the beauty of snow, it looks fantastic. :omg: I think whites are really had to work with, and you accomplished them so well!

Haha, thanks! :D I really needed lots and lots of layers of watery paint and had to be careful with the white areas, but the masking liquid was very helpful. :)

Kangaroo!! or walaby. I love all of these artworks. I would honestly be honoured if I had any one of these in my room or in my house. However it's a shame that not all of these are for sale and even the ones that are, I'm not allowed to buy, but this is a truly wonderful peice of art.

P.S da kangaroo is magical and he teleported from Australia (lol where I live X3) to the lynx because they're best friends X3

The frame of the tree makes a heart around the lynx! :la: It's a beautiful landscape, and I think both animals are curious as to why they're there. LOL ;)

There were similar shaped trees on the photo that inspired me and I changed it to make it look more like a heart. :)
Sure, maybe both of them ended up somewhere they don't belong! :D

It's a Christmas miracle?! That or it escaped a zoo or something and wandered there. Oh, I just noticed the heart-shape of the scenery! Nicely done.
