Description

An arctic tern (Sterna paradisaea) with its chick. These birds are just incredible, they fly more than 20 000 kilometres (about 12 500 miles) during their travels each year!
In a documentary about the Antarctic I saw how a chick crawled under the wings of its parent. It was so cute that I just wanted to paint them.
