Mute swans mini painting - for sale by rieke-b Mute swans mini painting - for sale by rieke-b
(see English text below)

Small acrylic painting (10x7cm, about 4"x3") on canvas with wood (1cm, about 1/2" high). Painted with a lot of care and experience. A great gift! The paint is waterproof, non-fade and smells like nothing (like all my acrylic paintings).

25€ + shipping 2,50€ (international shipping: 4€).

The mute swan (Cygnus olor) is one of the biggest and most heavy European birds. It's mostly quiet and only hisses and calls out loudly during an argument or for defence. The mute swan can be seen quite often in Parks, also in bigger swarms in winter. It feeds only on plants.

White is such a delicate color, I'm glad you've captured some of the subtleties it catches. :D This pair is so cute together, the one in the back could be the male purring to the female? Looks as if they're talking. :meow: Lovely blue for the water too! I think it could've used some more rippling around where they're swimming and highlights. Great with the reflections though, that can be tough to paint!

Thank you so much. I painted it from a photo I took, but changed some things (they were originally further away from each other :D ) and left others away to keep it simple. I didn't want to paint too many water highlights, so the focus is on the swans.
I really don't know which one is which. The males are supposed to have slightly bigger knobs on their beaks, but I'm really not sure here... :)
